


Plastic drainage boards, also known as plastic drainage belts, come in various shapes such as wave shaped and harmonica shaped. The middle is an extruded plastic core board, which is the skeleton and channel of the drainage belt. Its cross section is parallel and cross shaped, and both sides are wrapped with non-woven geotextile as filter layers. The core belt plays a supporting role and discharges the water seeping in from the filter layer upwards. It is a good vertical channel for soft foundation treatment of saturated and viscous soils such as silt, silty soil, and backfill soil using drainage consolidation method, greatly reducing the consolidation time of soft soil.
working principle:
The plastic drainage board is inserted into the soft soil foundation using an insertion machine. Under the action of the upper preloading load, the void water in the soft soil foundation is discharged from the plastic drainage board to the sand layer or horizontal plastic drainage pipe laid on the upper part, and then discharged from other places to accelerate the consolidation of the soft soil foundation. In the treatment of soft soil foundation, the design and construction equipment of plastic drainage boards are basically the same as those of bag sand wells.

Advantages of using plastic drainage boards to reinforce soft soil foundations:
1. Good water filtration, smooth drainage, and guaranteed drainage effect.
2. The material has good strength and ductility, and can adapt to the deformation capacity of the foundation without affecting the drainage performance.
3. The cross-sectional size of the drainage board is small, and the disturbance to the foundation during the installation of the drainage board is minimal.
4. Plate insertion construction can be carried out on ultra weak foundations.
5. Fast construction and short construction period, each inserting machine can insert more than 5000m of boards per day, and the cost is lower than that of bag sand wells.
When using drainage consolidation method to reinforce deep soft soil foundation, from both technical and economic perspectives, using drainage boards is almost an economical, effective, and feasible method.
